This Privacy Policy explains how Sportao Inc. ("Sportao", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the SportsConnector mobile application, the sportsconnector.com website, and related services (together, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide.

• Account information: your name and mobile phone number, and your email address if you choose to provide it. Your phone number is used to sign you in and to connect you with the groups you are invited to.
• Profile information: details you choose to add, such as a photo, skill level, preferred sports, and availability.
• Content you share: messages, photos, and other content you send in chats or post through the Service.
• Communications: information you send us when you contact support.

Information collected automatically.

• Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, and push notification tokens.
• Usage information: how you interact with the Service, such as features used and actions taken.
• Log information: IP address, access times, and error reports, used for security and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including matching you with other players and delivering your messages.
• Send you a one-time verification code by SMS when you sign in (see "SMS Verification" below).
• Send push notifications about activity relevant to you, such as new messages and match invitations. You can turn these off in your device settings.
• Keep the Service safe, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our Terms of Use.
• Respond to your questions and support requests.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. SMS Verification

We use text messages (SMS) for one purpose only: to verify your mobile phone number when you sign in. When you enter your phone number in the app and tap Continue, we send a single SMS with a one-time login code. Entering that code in the app completes sign-in. • Consent: you agree to receive this message when you enter your phone number and tap Continue on the sign-in screen, which discloses that a code will be sent by SMS.
• Message frequency: one message per sign-in request. We do not send recurring, promotional, or marketing text messages.
• Cost: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan.
• Opting out: reply STOP to any message from us to stop receiving text messages. Because sign-in relies on the verification code, you will not be able to sign in until you reply START. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at [email protected].
• No sharing: no mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

4. AI Assistant

The Service includes an AI assistant. Messages you send to the assistant, along with limited context needed to answer them, may be processed by third-party AI service providers on our behalf to generate responses. We do not use your conversations with the assistant to train third-party AI models.

5. How We Share Information

• With other users: your profile information and the content you share are visible to the people you interact with, as appropriate for the feature (for example, chat participants see your messages).
• With service providers: we use trusted third parties to run the Service, such as cloud hosting, Cloudflare (content delivery and security), SMS delivery for verification codes, push notification delivery, and AI service providers. They process data only on our instructions.
• For legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Sportao, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: if Sportao is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure credential storage, and infrastructure protection provided by Cloudflare. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and correction: you can review and update your profile information in the app.
• Deletion: you can request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at [email protected].
• Push notifications: you can disable them at any time in your device settings.
• Text messages: reply STOP to opt out of SMS, as described in "SMS Verification" above.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, such as the right to access, port, restrict, or object to certain processing of your data. To exercise them, contact us at [email protected].

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when this policy was last revised.
